Dual 150T bridge cranes installation.

Advanced Crane Technologies was the PRIME contractor to supply and install two (2) custom-designed 150-ton, double-girder, overhead electric traveling (OET) bridge cranes at the Philadelphia Naval Shipyard. Each crane features a 104 ft span and is cab-operated. One crane includes a 150-ton main hoist trolley, while the other includes a 150/25-ton trolley with auxiliary hoist. The cranes were designed to meet CMAA Class ā€œDā€ duty cycle and are configured for outdoor service with 81 feet of available lift.

Notable features of the cranes include climate-controlled operator cabs, full-length walkways on both girders with crossover platforms, LED flood lighting, fall protection systems, and full load testing to 125% capacity.

Scope of Work

  • Site Survey / Investigation: Performed complete runway survey and tolerance checks per CMAA standards
  • Design: Completed detailed engineering and layout
  • Fabrication: Supplied all fabricated crane components
  • Demolition / Removal: Removed existing crane systems
  • Installation: Installed cranes, walkways, cab, and new runway conductor bar system
  • Testing: Conducted full load testing to 125% of rated capacity
  • Operator Training: Delivered comprehensive operator and maintenance training to Navy personnel
