Barge-mounted crane for mission-critical Navy operations.

Advanced Crane Technologies engineered and delivered a custom-designed 40/10-ton capacity overhead electric traveling (OET) bridge crane for barge mounting at a Naval shipyard. With a 77′-10.5″ span and CMAA Class D rating, the crane was specifically designed for demanding outdoor marine environments, including operation in sea state “3” conditions. The trolley features a rack-and-pinion drive system along each girder to ensure stability and performance under wave-induced motion, and the system meets strict NAVFAC specifications.

This highly specialized crane offers 115 feet of available lift with the ability to reach 60 feet below water. Advanced features include a state-of-the-art radio control system, oversized motors and drives, load scale system, full-length walkway, centralized lubrication, 1000-watt floodlights, adjustable bridge guide rollers, barrel drum couplings, and marine-grade epoxy paint. ACT also provided new runway rails, conductor systems, storm pins, rail alignment, and full on-site support for reassembly, installation, testing, and operator training—delivering a comprehensive turnkey solution for mission-critical Navy operations.
