ACT built this bridge crane and runway system for safe, efficient ISO container handling for DHS.
40-ton container crane and runway system for DHS.
Advanced Crane Technologies engineered and installed a custom 40-ton container handling bridge crane and freestanding runway for DHS. Designed for CMAA 70, Class āDā outdoor service, the system is capable of lifting 20- to 40-foot ISO shipping containers while meeting all NEC, ASME, and OSHA safety requirements. The crane utilizes a 16-part true Anti-Sway/Anti-Rotate reeving system to keep the spreader bar level throughout the lift, ensuring container stability during handling operations.
All crane motions are managed via variable frequency drives and operated with a handheld radio remote featuring integrated spreader bar controls. A back-up push-button pendant on a festoon system ensures operational redundancy. Additional safety features include bridge and trolley limit switches to prevent over-travel. The freestanding runway, built to AISC standards, was designed to support the crane and its load while maximizing structural integrity and service longevity in an outdoor environment.
