New 260T Lifting Beam & Hook Replacement

Advanced Crane Technologies served as the prime contractor for the complete design, fabrication, testing, and delivery of a new 260-ton lifting beam and hook assembly for the Old Hickory Dam bridge crane. The project replaced the existing equipment with a forged twin-hook system, trunnion, pins, bearings, and hardware, all built to meet updated safety standards while precisely matching the original equipment’s envelope.

The scope included a full PE-stamped design with FEA analysis, third-party NDT inspections, and in-shop 125% proof load testing witnessed virtually by government representatives. After the original beam failed testing, ACT fabricated a new custom beam to exact specifications, ensuring reliable performance and compliance. The final assembly was delivered fully certified and ready for immediate use.
