New 20T Draft Tube Gantry Crane

Advanced Crane Technologies served as the prime contractor for the design, fabrication, and installation of a new 20-ton draft tube gantry crane at Jones Bluff Dam in Selma, AL. The new crane was engineered to replace the aging 10-ton USACE unit, providing increased capacity and modern reliability. The system was fully designed with calculations and documentation to meet Corps of Engineers specifications.

The crane features a state-of-the-art electrical control system, enclosed machinery house, storm brakes, and an integrated load cell and lifting beam for precise, safe operations. Additional enhancements included energy-efficient LED lighting, radio remote control, wind meter, and fall protection tie-offs. ACT also installed a new 250-amp, 300-foot-long runway conductor system, ensuring robust power delivery and long-term service performance.
