Prime contractor for two 75-ton gantry cranes.
Advanced Crane Technologies was contracted as the PRIME contractor by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers to rehabilitate two (2) 75-ton gantry cranes at the Jim Woodruff Dam. The scope included comprehensive mechanical, electrical, structural, and environmental upgrades in accordance with USACE specifications. The project required detailed inspection, rehabilitation, and full load testing of both intake and spillway cranes.
Upgrades included asbestos and lead abatement, mechanical and structural repairs, and replacement of outdated systems such as lighting, festooning, compressed air, and travel alarms. The hoisting and travel systems were cleaned, lubricated, and rebuilt as needed, including complete motor, brake, encoder, and limit switch replacement. Additional upgrades included installation of new remote controls, safety chains, and cab refurbishments.
