60-ton powerhouse bridge crane rehabilitation.

Advanced Crane Technologies completed a full rehabilitation of a 60-ton powerhouse bridge crane for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. The project included replacing all major mechanical and electrical components—motors, brakes, reducers, sheaves, festoons, and wiring—along with a completely new operator cab and chair. The upgraded crane also received integrated load cells and state-of-the-art control systems, including a cab-mounted color touchscreen display. This interface provides real-time data on hook load, height, trolley position, system status, diagnostics, and alarms, with the added flexibility of radio control operation.

To ensure performance and compliance, all five motions were thoroughly tested. Load tests were performed at 50%, 100%, and 125% of rated capacity, with voltage, current, frequency, and RPMs recorded at each operational speed. The project also included two full days of operational and maintenance training for site personnel, covering mechanical systems, drives, and the new control interface—ensuring a smooth transition to the enhanced crane platform.
