50/5T Tailrace Gantry Crane Rehab

Advanced Crane Technologies was contracted to fully rehabilitate a 50-ton tailrace gantry crane at the Lower Monumental Dam in the state of Washington. This project featured a custom-engineered 50/5T trolley replacement with complete calculations and documentation to meet government specifications. ACT also performed extensive structural, mechanical, and electrical upgrades, including a new diesel generator, cable reel, storm brakes, gantry drive components, and control system replacement.

The operator’s cab was removed, modernized, and reinstalled, and a closed-circuit television (CCTV) system was integrated to improve operator visibility and overall safety. The scope of work reflects ACT’s turnkey capabilities—from design and engineering to installation and commissioning—ensuring long-term reliability and compliance for critical dam operations.
