Advanced Crane Technologies provided a new custom designed 40/10T capacity 77’-10.5” span OET bridge crane. This specialized crane will be installed on a new barge being built for a Naval shipyard. The new 40T bridge crane is designed to operate in up to sea state “3” conditions. The trolley has a rack and pinion drive along each girder due to the sea state “3” requirement. The new 40/10T capacity crane was designed to NAVFAC specifications with a new state-of-the-art control system. The new crane is CMAA class “D” rated and designed for outdoor service with 115’ of available lift, and can reach 60’ under water. Unique features include: Radio control system; Full length walkways on (1) girder; (3) 1000 watt flood lights; marine environment, adjustable bridge guide rollers, barrel coupling on drums, load scale system, oversized drives and motors, centralized lub system, end travel limit siwthces, and special epoxy paint. Additional work scope on this project include new 105 # runway rails, rail clips, splice bars, 250 amp 4-bar runway conductor system with support brackets, runway storm pins, runway rail alignment survey, site supervisor for reassembly and installation of crane; crane testing and operational training.
