225-ton USACE dam crane rehab.

Advanced Crane Technologies rehabilitated a 225-ton powerhouse crane at the Walter F. George Dam for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, located on the Chattahoochee River along the state line between Alabama and Georgia. The project involved supplying and installing all new motors, brakes, reducers, sheaves, festoons, operator cab and chair, and a fully modernized control system. The updated controls include a cab-mounted interface providing real-time crane status, diagnostics, and alarms, along with integrated radio control for flexible operation.

To improve safety and access, ACT also upgraded all walkways and ladders to meet current OSHA compliance standards. Load cells were installed for precise monitoring, and the new electrical and mechanical systems ensure reliable performance for critical lifting operations in the powerhouse environment.
