20T Draft Tube Gantry Crane Refurbishment

Advanced Crane Technologies completed a full-scale refurbishment of a 20-ton draft tube gantry crane for a U.S. Army Corps of Engineers dam. The project scope included design, procurement, fabrication, shipping, installation, start-up, and training—delivered as a complete turnkey solution. ACT handled every phase, including project management, manufacturing oversight, electrical administration, and quality control to meet the client’s rigorous specifications.

The refurbished crane featured AC variable frequency drive controls, new hook coverage with close hook approaches, and the installation of a full-length runway conductor system grounded across the tailrace deck. Safety upgrades included new platforms, handrails, and safety gates, as well as canopy demolition and repainting with abatement. Despite tight building constraints, ACT successfully executed a complex field erection with precision and efficiency.
