Project Details

Engineering designs for a powerhouse bridge crane.

This project involved developing the structural and mechanical design for a new 165-ton, top-running double-girder bridge crane with a single trolley, 165-ton main hoist, and 25-ton auxiliary hoist. The new crane replaces an existing 150-ton crane with a higher capacity modern crane with modern safety features all while fitting in the same clearance envelope as the old, lower capacity crane.

ACT’s scope included detailed engineering calculations, design drawings, and coordination of crane electrification, structural loading, and system integration to meet stringent USACE requirements.
