10T monorail crane, spreader & rail system installation.

Advanced Crane Technologies provided a complete replacement of the existing 10-ton monorail crane system at a U.S. Army Corps of Engineers dam spillway. The project included a custom-engineered monorail crane, designed to meet strict USACE specifications, along with a new VFD-controlled hoist and trolley system. For increased operational flexibility, both radio and pendant control were supplied, and overload protection was added with load cells installed at both dead-end points.

A new 42’-5” spreader beam—rated for 10 tons (or 5 tons per hook)—was designed to interface with existing stop logs and integrate with the monorail. ACT also provided and installed a 1,405-foot-long monorail feed rail system using four 250-amp continuous copper conductor bars. Despite extremely limited access beneath a state road, the system was successfully deployed over 28 spillway gates spaced at 49 feet each—demonstrating ACT’s precision planning and logistical execution.
